Charity Missions

Caring For Our Community

From its very first year, Jamia Sa-adiya Arabiya has treated education and charity as inseparable parts of the same mission — a commitment carried through five decades, from residential care for orphaned children to healthcare, food distribution, marriage assistance and emergency relief.

None of this is possible without the generosity of donors within Kerala and across the wider community abroad. Every contribution, large or small, goes directly to the individuals and families these programmes serve.

Boys' Orphanage

For decades, our Boys' Orphanage has provided a genuine home, not just shelter, for orphaned and underprivileged boys. Residents are enrolled directly into Sa-adiya's schools, while house-parents and mentors live alongside them, offering the daily guidance a family would provide. Many alumni have gone on to become teachers and community leaders themselves.

Girls' Orphanage

The Girls' Orphanage mirrors the same commitment shown to our boys, providing a safe, nurturing residence with full access to education, healthcare and emotional support. Girls receive the same quality of schooling and encouragement toward higher studies as any other student, with female caregivers supporting them toward confident, independent adulthood.

Destitute Home

Our Destitute Home cares for elderly and destitute individuals who have nowhere else to turn, often having outlived family or been abandoned by circumstance. Residents receive meals, shelter, medical attention and companionship, funded entirely by charitable donations and reflecting the belief that a community is measured by how it cares for its most vulnerable.

Healthcare Initiative

Sa-adiya has undertaken construction of a multi- and super-speciality hospital to serve not just our students and staff, but the wider public across Kasaragod district. Born from years of planning, it aims to offer accessible general and specialist care for families who might otherwise go without treatment, and continues to rely on donor generosity.

Educational Sponsorship

Many capable students come from families who cannot afford fees, books or uniforms. Our Educational Sponsorship programme closes that gap with need-based financial support, ensuring no student is forced to abandon their studies due to hardship. Several of our current teachers were once beneficiaries of this same programme themselves.

Ramadan Food Distribution

Every Ramadan, Sa-adiya distributes food kits and Iftar meals to hundreds of needy families across surrounding villages. Volunteers, many of them students and staff, spend weeks packing and personally delivering kits of rice, dates and essentials, often to elderly or housebound recipients who would otherwise go without.

Marriage Assistance

For orphaned girls or families facing hardship, the cost of marriage can become a genuine obstacle. Our Marriage Assistance programme provides financial and material support so families are not forced to choose between stability and seeing their daughters married with dignity. Requests are reviewed individually, with sensitivity and discretion.

Widow & Family Support

Widowhood often leaves families, particularly those with young children, in a precarious financial position. Our Widow & Family Support programme offers ongoing monthly assistance, not a one-time gesture, with case workers staying in regular contact to help with school fees, medical expenses, or basic household costs as needs evolve.

Disaster Relief

When flooding, cyclones or other emergencies strike this coastal region, Sa-adiya mobilises quickly with emergency aid, shelter and essential supplies. Our existing network of institutions and volunteers lets us reach isolated communities within hours, coordinating with local authorities to ensure the hardest-hit families receive priority support.

Community Medical Camps

Beyond our hospital initiative, Sa-adiya periodically organises free medical camps offering check-ups and consultations to the wider community, particularly where regular healthcare access is limited. Volunteer doctors and Sa-adiya's own medical students often catch issues that might otherwise go undiagnosed until far more serious.

Skill Training for Livelihood

Our Skill Training programme offers vocational courses helping unemployed youth and women become self-reliant, chosen based on genuine local demand. Particular emphasis goes to participants with limited access to such training, including women balancing family responsibilities. Many graduates have gone on to start small enterprises or secure stable employment.

Zakat & Sadaqah Distribution

As a trusted institution, Sa-adiya collects and distributes Zakat and Sadaqah on behalf of donors who want confidence their contributions reach genuinely eligible recipients. Eligibility is verified in accordance with Islamic guidelines, relieving individual donors of that burden while ensuring funds reach families facing real hardship.

Support Our Mission

None of this work is possible without the generosity of donors within Kerala and across the wider community abroad. Every contribution, large or small, directly supports the families and individuals these programmes serve.
